Man United are weighing up a possible move to sign Alexis Mac Allister.
Manchester United may well have new owners going into the summer transfer window. Hopefully, there’s plenty of money available to Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman will already have transfer targets in mind, though nothing concrete will happen for at least a few months yet…
Several names have already been linked, with CaughtOffside columnist, Ben Jacobs, throwing another fresh face into the mix; Alexis Mac Allister.
According to Jacobs, Man United have ‘held internal discussions’ over the signing of the £60m-rated 24-year-old.
Mac Allister has been super impressive during his time for Brighton, while also not looking out of place at the World Cup for Argentina. He also brought a winners medal home with him.
United are not the only side interested in Mac Allister, with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea also credited with some sort of keenness on the attacking midfielder.
It goes without saying, this is a massive summer transfer window for United. It’s one they have to get right if this club is serious about competing for major honours again.
There’s no doubt that Mac Allister would be an important addition to this squad and although the £60m+ fee is pretty steep, the Argentine would be a vital asset for this Ten Hag system.
This is a player who’d represent an upgrade on the likes of Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and even Fred, while you’d imagine United may well have to sell at least one of these guys in order to find room in the squad for Mac Allister.
Either way, I’d love to see this deal happen in the summer.
