A decision over Jeremie Frimpong’s future will be made this month, with Man United still keen on signing the full-back.
Manchester United are a club that is undergoing major change both on and off the field. Erik ten Hag will be fearing for his job after the Brentford performance at the weekend. Signings need to be made. Players need to leave. Staff members need to be hired. It’s all happening at the Theatre of Dreams.
As we gear up to what is a massive summer transfer window, the rumours are starting to ramp up. We recently learned that United are still interested in signing right-back Jeremie Frimpong. Now, another source has backed up that information.
It’s Florian Plettenberg with the claim. He states that a decision could be made on Frimpong’s future by the end of April, with nearly all the ‘top clubs’ showing an interest in the right-back.
United have the 23-year-old on their transfer ‘list’, though they will not have it all their own way in the race to sign the Dutchman.
Check out Florian Plettenberg’s tweet on the news here:
📍News #Frimpong | A decision could be made by the end of April. The fact that Alonso is staying has an influence on him. However, nearly all top clubs are still interested in the 23 y/o right-back.

Frimpong has been excellent for a Bayer Leverkusen side that have decimated all before them in the Bundesliga this season. The defender has improved dramatically over the last 12 months, hence, he is now attracting major interest.
In terms of fee, around £35m-£38m should be enough to get the deal done, which is very reasonable for a player of Frimpong’s quality.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has never been a Ten Hag player. That’s how and where I see Frimpong fitting into the squad. The English defender, nicknamed ‘The Spider’ could well end up leaving this summer.
That would leave Frimpong having to compete with in-form Diogo Dalot for starts, though do not forget that the man from Portugal can also play at left-back, too.
