Man United have sent in a contract offer to Christian Eriksen.

Without really hearing anything concrete as of yet, it feels like Manchester United are consistently being linked with every single name under the sun.

The Old Trafford club need a major overhaul this summer, with Erik ten Hag the man to oversee the regime.

Yesterday, United were once again linked with a move to sign soon-to-be free agent, Christian Eriksen. According to some reports, the Red Devils are actually amongst the frontrunners.

Well now, the most reliable of sources has claimed that United have ‘made an offer’ to sign the free agent. It comes from David Ornstein, who writes for The Athletic.

The 30-year-old signed a six-month contract with Brentford back in January, with Eriksen looking back to his best as the season drew to a close.

Following that cardiac arrest he suffered last year, it was always going to take some time for the Dane to get fully back up to speed; but it was amazing to see him still able to compete at such a high level.

Not only would this be a feel-good signing, but Eriksen would absolutely do a good job for us. Immediately, we have someone who can replace Juan Mata, with the former Spurs man more than good enough to play more minutes than his Spanish counterpart.

This is a summer where United have to dish out the money wisely and effectively. Eriksen is a relatively inexpensive buy for the Red Devils due to the lack of transfer fee, while the club wouldn’t be solely reliant on the attacker to start every single week.

I definitely like the idea, though it’s dependent on Champions League clubs passing up on a move to sign Eriksen.
