A couple of weeks ago, we covered a story from The Athletic, in which it was claimed that Manchester United have made an enquiry about Harry Kane.
The star Englishman has made no bones about the fact that he’d leave White Hart Lane if trophies don’t follow, with United seemingly keen on adding the Spurs icon if he were available.
Well, yesterday, the Manchester Evening News offered us another update on Kane. Apparently, United have been told they have ‘no chance’ at signing the superstar 26-year-old due to the length of his contract.
As we know, Tottenham Hotspur are tough negotiators. Kane is tied down in North London until 2024, so the ball is firmly in Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho’s court.
Plus, there’s no way they’d sell Kane to a direct rival. You’d imagine that the striker would probably have to move abroad, unless he plans to wind down his contract. By that time, though, his best years could well be behind him…
Look, we all knew this was going to be a difficult transfer. It’d take some major pushing on Kane’s part and I just don’t see that happening. We’ve not even talked about the monumental amount of money it’d cost to make the deal happen. You’re probably looking at £150million+, maybe more?
