Man United are in the chase to sign Malo Gusto from Lyon.
Erik ten Hag is slowly moulding this quad into one that fits his style, though these things take time.
Manchester United have found a gem in their new manager, who deserves all the backing he can get. The January transfer window has been somewhat tough, with only a couple of loan signings through the door. It was always to be expected when you factor in that the Glazer family are actively trying to sell the club.
However, that isn’t stopping planning for the summer. Ten Hag is doing his utmost to prep for a huge transfer window, as the Red Devils look to return to the summit of English football.
The latest name linked with an Old Trafford move is Malo Gusto. The young Lyon right-back is impressing over in Ligue 1, with Premier League sides taking notice – including United.
It’s journalist Fabrice Hawkins with the claim. He took to Twitter to share his latest information.
Apparently, United have ‘positioned themselves’ to be in the running to sign the top-class 19-year-old, with Chelsea also keen.
Apparently, the Stamford Bridge club have already made their first offer for Gusto, with a long-term contract on the table. United have asked the player not to rush into a decision, as they weigh up a possible move to acquire the young man.
United still have their issues in the right-back position. Diogo Dalot started the season brilliantly, though he’s recently been injured and Aaron Wan-Bissaka was doing a decent job up until the Arsenal game…
There is still a feeling that Wan-Bissaka hasn’t totally convinced Ten Hag, hence the need to bring in another right-sided defender who the manager fully trusts.
Malo Gusto could well be the right man for the job, though beating out competition from Chelsea looks pretty tough right now.
