Man United are looking to sign Leny Yoro from Lille, with INEOS said to be a big fan of the defender.

Over the last week or so, Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move to sign a new centre-half. It seems as though a signing in that position is now rising to the top of the list of needs for Erik ten Hag.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt appear to be names at the front of the queue, though don’t rule out a move for Lille’s Leny Yoro, who has been rumoured and linked with a Reds switch in the past.

The latest update on that front comes via AS. United, along with PSG and Real Madrid, are said to be keen on acquiring the talented defender.

According to the report, United have ‘recently expressed interest’ in making the 18-year-old defensive signing, with Yoro continuing to impress for Lille over in Ligue 1.

On top of that, INEOS have made Yoro among their ‘priorities’ as we approach what is a crucial summer transfer window for the Red Devils.

Lille, understandably, would prefer to keep ahold of Yoro, due to the fact that he is immensely talented and his value will only grow. If they’re forced into parting ways with the player, he will not come cheaply.

United could gain an upper hand on PSG due to the fact that Lille wouldn’t want to sell to a domestic rival, though beating out competition from Real Madrid could prove tough – both in terms of club pull and financial costs.

This would be an incredible coup if Ten Hag and INEOS could somehow pull it off, while a top four finish feels like the bare minimum requirement to be at least competitive in the race to sign Yoro.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Leny Yoro would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
