Man United are considering letting Anthony Elanga leave on loan, after multiple proposals.

Manchester United Football Club aren’t blessed with huge depth in the wide areas right now, though Erik ten Hag fully trusts in the players he has at his disposal in that area.

Marcus Rashford and Antony are playing well, though they do need some quality help. Hopefully, Jadon Sancho’s return will offer the club that boost, coupled with the continued development of Alejandro Garnacho.

One man whose growth has stagnated of late is Anthony Elanga. A regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Swede has found minutes hard to come by this term, though having him around as a back-up and rotational option isn’t the worst idea – in case injury strikes.

Elanga certainly isn’t short of options should United decide to let the young man depart on a short-term deal. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano.

Apparently, United ‘have received 10 proposals’ to let the 20-year-old leave on loan, with PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Dortmund named as potential destinations.

As things stand, no decision has been made by United, though the club will make their mind up over the next day or so before the transfer window slams shut.

It’s a finely balanced situation. All it takes is one injury and Elanga could be thrust into the line-up, so I fully understand why Ten Hag is at least contemplating keeping him around.

United’s success comes first. If there’s any chance that Elanga will be given regular minutes, then he has to stay here, as annoying as it is for a player who isn’t starting games.

A loan move could offer Elanga those guaranteed minutes, though it absolutely has to be the right situation. There’s no point in him heading somewhere he’ll just sit on the bench, as he can do that here in Manchester…
