Man United have scouted midfielder Mandela Keita ‘several times’ recently

Man United have eyes on young midfielder, Mandela Keita.

Manchester United will continue to overhaul their playing squad this coming summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to continue to build a side that is more in line with his image and style.

This will be INEOS’ first window in charge of footballing operations, so it’s certainly going to be intriguing to see how much money is spent, and on what players.

Several names have already been linked with a possible Reds transfer over the summer, while over the last 24 hours, another new name has been thrown into the mix; Mandela Keita.

It’s Het Nieuwsblad with the story, as Sport Witness provide the translation. They say that United have scouted the 21-year-old midfielder ‘several times’ as interest in the player increases.

Ketia currently plies his trade for Belgian side, Royal Antwerp. The article points to the Belgian’s excellent performances for Antwerp, which has led to the club increasing his stay there, having only initially signed a loan deal until January. He will now remain with Antwerp until at least the summer.

His parent club, OH Leuven, will be aware of the increasing interest in Keita, with the likes of West Ham and Nottingham Forest enquiring about his availability in the mid-season window.

United are now have said to have scouted Keita on several occasions already this year, with the Red Devils now the biggest side to show genuine interest in the midfield man.

It’s stressed that there has been no concrete offer made at this stage, though the fact that United have sent scouts to watch Keita on multiple occasions does lead me to believe that they’re impressed with what they’ve seen from the player so far.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Mandela Keita would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
