Man United have Tammy Abraham on their list of possible options in the striker department going into the summer.

Wout Weghorst’s arrival at Manchester United on loan was nothing but a stop-gap until the summer, though the Dutchman has done decently enough thus far.

It’s a position that has to be filled in the long run – most likely with plenty of money thrown at it…

Several names have been linked with a United switch, including the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. Both of those guys get a mention in the latest report from The Telegraph, though they also suggest the Reds could be keen on ex-Chelsea man, Tammy Abraham.

It’s stated that if they fail in their pursuit of either Kane or Osimhen, the 25-year-old Englishman, who currently plies his trade for AS Roma, is seen as the ‘fall back option’ to fill the striker void this summer.

The striker had an impressive debut season for AS Roma last year, with Abraham carrying on in a similar vein this time around.

Obviously, in an ideal world, United will land themselves a Kane or Osimhen-type name, as they’re the main targets for a reason.

However, in terms of other options, the club could do a whole lot worse than Abraham. Sure, he’s not the long-term solution, though as a back-up and rotational option, this could be a smart piece of business – if the price is right.

Abraham would be an excellent stylistic fit for the Ten Hag system, while the Englishman knows the Premier League very well from his time at Chelsea.

I’d suspect United would probably have to overpay for Abraham, though, as AS Roma aren’t going to want to lose him.
