Manchester United haven’t made their move for superstar left-back Alex Sandro. Furthermore, talks between the Red Devils and Juventus haven’t taken place at this time.
That’s according to the excellent Fabrizio Romano, who is well-connected when it comes to Serie A transfer stories. He does hint that may change over the next few weeks, but we’ll have to wait and see…
It was just a couple of weeks ago when the Old Trafford club were reportedly in talks with Juve about the possibility of signing the 27-year-old Sandro, but it seems as though Romano’s sources are telling him the complete opposite.
Personally, I feel that United are desperate to sign a new left-back. Ashley Young isn’t getting any younger, whereas Luke Shaw just isn’t getting the playing time for whatever reason. Sandro is experienced, solid on both sides of the ball and quick; the perfect full-back in the modern-day Premier League.
Sandro would be a Jose Mourinho signing that’d suit him perfectly, and to learn that we’re actually not in discussions to sign the Brazil international is hugely disappointing. Perhaps that may change after the World Cup, but we simply have to sign a new left-back at some point during this transfer window.
