Man United hit with Varane & Pogba injury scares

Ralf Rangnick and Manchester United have been hit with a pair of injury worries ahead of their return next weekend.

Manchester United Football Club will have had well over two weeks off in between games when they next take to the field. The fixtures do not get any easier for the Red Devils, who take on Leicester City on Saturday.

Ahead of that game, United’s squad will have hopefully been using this break to rest up and recharge the batteries; both physically and mentally.

Albeit there’s only a slim chance United secure a place in the top four, it’s worth putting in the effort until it becomes a mathematical impossibility.

Anyway, United’s task hasn’t been made easier if French journalist, Baptise Durieux is correct. He states that a pair of key United stars are struggling with separate injury issues; Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba.

United have been hit with the double injury scare at the worst possible time, with Varane now on a ‘specific training’ regime after being ‘hit in the right foot’. What that means exactly, we’re unsure at this stage.

As for Pogba, he was absent from training completely due to a left foot contusion. Durieux was quick to stress that the problem isn’t thought to be anything serious.

It goes without saying, we’re going to need our top performers to be fully fit and readily available for the run-in if we have any chance at pulling off the impossible. Both these guys fall into that bracket.

Our task becomes much harder if these injuries are even slightly worse than first feared. Once again, it shows how frustrating the international break can be on the injury front. Time and time again, players go down with problems at the crucial stage of the campaign and it leaves the club scrambling to pick up the pieces.

Hopefully, in this case, the lads aren’t feeling too bad and they’ll be good to go if called upon this weekend.

Is Raphael Varane’s injury record becoming a problem? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
