Manchester United are always in the market for the latest up-and-comers. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to carry on the mantra in regards to giving youth a chance.
Perhaps the next big thing upon the European football scene is Joao Felix of SL Benfica. Now, according to the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils have made their first move…
He says that United, and their fierce rivals, Manchester City, have already held talks with Benfica about the 19-year-old attacking midfielder who has scored eight goals and added four assists in just fifteen appearances.
Attacking-midfield is an area in which United are lacking in depth. Juan Mata is used sparingly in that spot, while the only real output we’ve had from that area is Paul Pogba. He cannot do it all on his own and Felix would certainly ease the burden upon our Frenchman’s shoulders.
Felix wouldn’t come cheap, though, with a report from The Metro claiming that Liverpool
The interest in Felix is huge. It is going to be an all-out war to land his signature, but it’s great to see United trying to get a head start on the competition.
