After losing both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini over the last eighteen months, Manchester United were two midfielders light – before an incredible move for Bruno Fernandes was sanctioned in January.
Well, the senior United squad is still one central player down, with the Red Devils seemingly looking to bring in even more youth to bulk up the numbers; enter, Eduardo Camavinga.
The story comes from The Metro, who state that United ‘hope’ to win the race to sign the mega-talented 17-year-old, ahead of Real Madrid…
Apparently, United believe they have the upper-hand as they’re willing to loan Camavinga back to Rennes for twelve months as a way of sweetening the deal.
Although he’s only 17, Camavinga has been an integral part of Rennes’ team all season long, making 36 appearances and helping them to a third-place Ligue 1 finish.
United’s interest in Camavinga is seemingly one that has been running for a while as The Metro claim that the Reds have made ‘more than a dozen checks’ on the young up-and-comer.
Again, this is Solskjaer taking another step in the direction of jam-packing the squad with youth and building for the future. Camavinga would be an astute signing, though beating out Real Madrid is much easier said than done…
