The summer transfer window is still open for the majority of Europe, although Manchester United and the rest of the Premier League will have to wait until January to further bolster their squad.
That hasn’t stopped the Reds already planning a few months in advance, though. In an exclusive from The Sun, it’s being reported that United have identified 19-year-old Jadon Sancho as their top January target.
Furthermore, the Reds are preparing a £100m ‘war chest’ to spend in the mid-season window in an effort to secure Champions League football – while the Borussia Dortmund teenager is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top priority.
It seems as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to get all the cash from the Romelu Lukaku transfer, with a little bit extra thrown in there too…

There’s no doubt that Sancho would be a sublime acquisition. However, I have my doubts about the credibility of this story. January moves for top-class players rarely happen, particularly while United don’t have Champions League football on the table. Why would the Englishman leave Dortmund if the German giants progress through the group stages?
For me, it feels as though a move next summer is somewhat inevitable – provided United can secure a top-four finish and offer Champions League football. The focus, for now, should be solely on the players currently at the club. Let’s worry about signing players in nine months time…
