Man United are in discussions with West Ham United, over the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United’s summer window arrived with plenty of intrigue. Signings simply had to be made due to the state of the squad, though with money tight, the Reds also have to sanction big sales.

Mason Greenwood appears to be leaving for a decent transfer fee, which does bolster the kitty. Other names may well follow, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

As soon as Erik ten Hag took charge at the Theatre of Dreams, I always felt like Wan-Bissaka would be among the first major exits due to a conflict in style. Fair play to the Englishman for lasting two years under the Dutch manager.

However, his days at Old Trafford now appear to be numbered, with TEAMtalk providing an update on Wan-Bissaka’s future.

According to their sources, United are in ‘advanced talks’ over the sale of the 26-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract. The Reds are now seeking a sale, so they do not lose Wan-Bissaka for free next summer.

Wan-Bissaka played 30 games last term, though most of those were due to injuries decimating the defence. It’s expected that the right-back will not be involved as much if he remains a Red Devil this coming season.

West Ham United appear to be Wan-Bissaka’s next destination, as they look to shore up that position this transfer window.

United have given the player the ‘green light’ to leave this summer, with talks progressing over a £15m sale.

The verdict

I was always going to be happy regardless which way this went. Wan-Bissaka is an excellent defender and he would have been solid again if he stayed at the club.

However, with his contract winding down, a sale for around £15m is pretty decent business. West Ham is a good move for the right-back, who will likely start regularly for the London club. It feels like a pretty good deal for all involved parties.
