Man United in constant contact with Napoli over Kalidou Koulibaly: report

Manchester United went big on a centre-back signing last summer, with Harry Maguire making the £80million move to Old Trafford.

‘Slabhead’ as he’s known by many has been an inspired piece of business. However, it seems as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t done in regards to shoring up his defence.

The story comes from Tuttosport’s Wednesday print edition, translated by Sport Witness.

The Italian media outlet are running a transfer special which features Koulibaly. Apparently, United are amongst the clubs in ‘constant contact’ with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis about the classy 28-year-old – whose transfer fee continues to decline year-on-year as his contract winds down.

Right now, Napoli are looking at making €130m (£117m) from the sale of Koulibaly and Arkadiusz Milik; who has himself been linked with an Old Trafford move pretty recently.

With Victor Lindelof now looking stable and Axel Tuanzebe constantly improving, there are surely more pressing needs for United. However, if Koulibaly is available, and for a reasonable fee, the Reds wouldn’t be doing their due diligence if they didn’t at least explore the possibility of signing this guy as he’s absolutely brilliant…
