Dusan Vlahovic is a name we’ve covered over the last couple of days in regards to a proposed Man United move. Today, we’re back at it again…
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad is just a few key pieces away from challenging at the highest level. Amongst those big needs is potentially a new striker – particularly if Edinson Cavani does leave the Theatre of Dreams.
Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic seems to be the new ‘it kid’, after enjoying a fantastic breakthrough campaign, during which he’s scored nineteen goals across all competitions. That, understandably, has some of Europe’s big-boys taking note…
Corriere dello Sport (Tuesday print edition), translated by Sport Witness, have given us their take on the situation. Apparently, Vlahovic’s ‘phone is boiling’ with interest aplenty. United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City are named as the interested parties.
it’s claimed that United are in contact with the agent over the potential signing of the 21-year-old forward, Darko Ristic, as they look to get better clarity about Vlahovic’s availability this summer.

No transfer fee is given by CdS, though at the end of their article, Sport Witness claim that Corriere Fiorentino state it would take at least £43m (€50m) to get a deal done for the in-form striker.
As is always the case when signing young players, this would be a gamble. Vlahovic has no experience in the Premier League, why in overall footballing terms, he’s still so young. With that in mind, is the Serb someone who can come in right away and fire us to a title? Probably not.
The ideal scenario would be having Cavani stay for a year, giving Vlahovic twelve months to settle in and get his feet wet. Then, the Serb would be in a far better position to take up the mantle at the start of the 2022/23 season.
As of right now, it just looks like United are putting the feelers out.
