Man United continue to show an interest in FC Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United side continues to adapt and evolve. Right now, the Baby Faced Assassin is slowly clearing out the dead-wood and replacing it with genuine quality.
The Red Devils will obviously continue to be linked with a move for pretty much any semi-decent player who is on the market. That’ll always be the case given the stature of the 20-time Premier League champions.
Amongst the names linked with a potential Old Trafford switch over the summer was Ousmane Dembele. Well, that rumour isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, it seems…
The latest update comes from Sport, with the translation coming via Sport Witness. As of right now, Dembele’s future at FC Barcelona remains ‘up in the air’ as his contract continues to wind down.
It’s stated that Dembele has been offered new terms, but on a lower salary due to Barca’s financial worries at the moment. Waiting in the wings is a whole host of clubs who are interested in signing the winger on a free transfer.
To further add to that, United are in an open conversation with the Frenchman’s agent about the potential signing.
But would a move for Dembele make sense?
Well, United are now well-stacked out wide after the arrival of Jadon Sancho. Marcus Rashford is also nearing on a return from injury. At this point, adding another attacker shouldn’t be a priority.
I do get the attraction of Dembele, though. He’d cost nothing in terms of transfer fee and his talent cannot be denied.
That said, there is a major concern about his fitness. Dembele just cannot keep himself out of the treatment room and that has to be a major turn-off for any potential suitors.
