Man United are now in talks over a big-money sale, with Mason Greenwood attracting plenty of interest.

Manchester United Football Club are believed to have limited finances to spend this summer. The general consensus is that the Reds will have around £50m available, before possible player sales.

Big money has been saved with the likes of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial leaving, though that doesn’t bolster the transfer kitty. Only major sales would help out on that front.

Well, United could set to be given a major boost in that regard, with the Daily Mail providing an encouraging update on the future of Mason Greenwood.

According to their latest information, United are now in talks with Lazio over a possible £30m+ sale of the star Greenwood. This would definitely bolster the Reds’ transfer kitty, at a time where money simply has to be generated.

As a result of Lazio’s interest, United are ‘bracing themselves’ for other clubs to firm up their interest. Clubs like Juventus and Napoli are said to be keen. Greenwood is also attracting interest from Germany, Spain and Portugal.

Although it hurts to lose a talent like Greenwood, a clean break here is exactly what’s required. He’s a young man who made a mistake, but there’s absolutely no way United should give him another chance.

The goal should be to maximise his transfer fee, then re-investing that money straight back into the squad, replacing Greenwood with genuine quality.

Now it’s just a waiting game, remaining patient and working out which side is willing to pay the most for Greenwood’s signature between now and the end of August.
