Man United are now in fresh contract talks with Shola Shoretire, despite the youngster slipping out of favour.

The AON Training Complex has always been a hotbed for producing young talents. Be it players who go on to perform in the Manchester United first-team, or find success elsewhere in the footballing world, the Red Devils have consistently developed budding footballers.

Kobbie Mainoo is thriving right now. Alejandro Garnacho looks sharp, too. Erik ten Hag has several more youngsters on the fringes of the first-team. Dan Gore, Hannibal and Willy Kambwala to name a few.

About eighteen months ago, this club was super excited about Shola Shoretire. The young teen was tearing it up at youth level in that attacking midfield role, though a failed loan move to Bolton Wanderers, coupled with a lack of senior minutes, has seen the Englishman’s growth stunted somewhat.

We’ve barely heard from Shoretire over the last year, though the Manchester Evening News have provided an update on his future. According to their latest information, United are in contract talks with the 19-year-old, despite a tough couple of years which has seen him slip down the pecking order.

The plan after that is a loan exit for Shoretire in January, with the attacker keen to head out on a short-term deal and remind us all just how talented he is.

It’s stated that Shoretire attracted loan interest from Championship sides in the summer, while European clubs were also keen. That interest is set to be rejuvenated this month as the young man wants to showcase his talents.

What’s interesting here is that a permanent Shoretire sale isn’t being ruled out. United, understandably, want to tie the teenager down to a new deal first, in order to protect his transfer value.

Hopefully, a loan deal is sorted out soon and Shoretire can start to prove his worth.
