Man United have eyes on in-form Crystal Palace attacker, Eberechi Eze.
Manchester United will not move forward with signing any players until their managerial situation is sorted. Erik ten Hag’s future remains up in the air. We’re expected to receive a firm decision on that front this week.
With the transfer window officially opening on Friday, the Red Devils are now starting to be linked with possible signings aplenty.
Today’s rumour on that front comes from Football Insider, who believes the Red Devils have eyes on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
The attacker, who is currently away at the European Championships with England, enjoyed another impressive campaign with The Eagles.
Now it’s claimed United are very much ‘in the race’ to sign the 25-year-old Premier League attacker, joining Tottenham Hotspur in the hunt for his signature.
According to FI, the Reds have the player ‘high’ on their transfer wish list, with Eze said to tick a lot of boxes for the Old Trafford outfit.
I get the impression that it’s Spurs who are currently at the front of the queue, though United could get themselves involved pretty quickly.
Eze will not come cheaply, with the attacker recently signing a new contract at Crystal Palace, with the London club under no real pressure to sell one of their star men.
You’d expect that nothing imminent will happen in regard to Eze’s future while he’s away with England. That could play into the Reds’ hands as they look to sort out Ten Hag’s future first. In a hypothetical world, if Ten Hag is sacked, there’s no guarantee the new manager will want to sign Eze. It all depends on who is in the dugout first and foremost.
From a fan perspective, Eze would be a superb buy. He’s an exciting player to watch who certainly fits in with ‘The United Way’. He would cost a large chunk of the summer budget, though.
