I’m still surprised that Manchester United haven’t really firmed up any interest in centre-halves with a meaningful bid this summer. Although a new name has been thrown into the ring over the last 24 hours…
It comes from France Football’s Monday print edition, translated by the brilliant Sport Witness. They say that United have asked for information in regards to Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe…
The Red Devils have initiated contact over a potential move for the 23-year-old centre-back, with Arsenal also keen on the Frenchman, with their manager, Unai Emery, holding him in ‘high regard’.

Apparently Kimpembe isn’t keen on a transfer at this point in time, although France Football state that the defender does see a move to England as part of his ‘career plan’.
It sounds silly, but quite frankly, if United were to sign any half-decent defender this summer it’d be an upgrade on what they already have.
Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and even Chris Smalling all aren’t good enough – and Kimpembe is already better than all three of those guys.
United fans will remember the Frenchman from their two-legged Champions League tie against PSG. Kimpembe actually opened the scoring in the game at Old Trafford, while also being right in the heart of the action as the Reds turned it around in Paris…
