Mason Mount is nearing a return to the fold at Man United, according to one club source.
Manchester United have had rotten injury luck this season. There’s absolutely no disputing that fact. Erik ten Hag has been missing his better players for prolonged periods of time – though it does feel like the issues have eased over the last month or so.
One man whose debut season at Old Trafford has been absolutely wrecked by treatment table woes is Mason Mount. The ex-Chelsea midfielder arrived in Manchester with promise aplenty, though that quickly fizzled out after picking up an early injury. He has not been able to recover from that.
Mount last played for the club back on November 11th, with no real news given on his fitness at all. The club, rightly, want to remain tight-lipped on the situation, as to not place any extra pressure on his shoulders.
However, reputable United source, @INSIDERUTD1, have now shed some light on the situation of Mount, among others.
He claims that the United player is now ‘close’ to being available again following his three-month injury. Apparently, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now about 2-4 weeks away, while there’s no specific timeframe placed on the problems of both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.

Wan Bissaka 2-4 weeks 🙏🏽
Malacia no specific time frame, still doing rehab 🙏🏽
Mount close to availability 🙏🏽
Shaw still being assessed, don’t know anything yet 🙏🏽
Sticking with Mount, this could be a massive boost for the Reds if he can get back to fitness sooner rather than later. Our midfield still looks average at times and his energy and on-ball quality could well help out in that regard.
Casemiro is looking that little bit more sluggish, meaning Mount could well fill that role, assuming he is now over the worst of his injuries.
No doubt for Ten Hag it has been a massively disappointing debut season for Mount. Nobody could have foreseen these major injury issues, though. I just hope it hasn’t affected his confidence. I’d love to see a fully fit and free-flowing Mount before the end of the season as I genuinely believe he’s a top quality footballer.
