Man United have added Napoli right-back, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, to their list of transfer targets.
When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Alex Telles, it pushed Luke Shaw to another level. The Englishman is now amongst the best in the world in his position.
Manchester United are looking for lightning to strike twice, hoping for a similar outcome on the other side by bringing in some stern competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Now we don’t speak Italian, so thanks to the Sun on Sunday for the translation. The article states that United are interested in signing the 27-year-old defender, with United looking to make their move after the EURO 2020 final later.
The Napoli defender has had an excellent tournament, though his club career is now up in the air ahead of the new season. Apparently, United have been ‘alerted’ to Di Lorenzo, after learning that he ‘likes’ the Premier League.
In terms of the transfer fee, around £17million is reportedly set to be enough to get the job done. It goes without saying, that’d be an absolute bargain for a genuinely top-level right-sided defender. Or so you’d think…
The Sun state that United are currently not willing to meet those demands, which I find strange. Perhaps they’re looking to spend a minimal amount on a right-back, due to the fact that they have Diogo Dalot still on the books – who himself had a decent 2020/21 over in the Serie A with AC Milan.
As of right now, this one looks unlikely but we’ll keep an eye on it.
