Man United ‘interested’ in signing Adrien Rabiot on free transfer

Man United are still looking to bring in Adrien Rabiot, with the midfielder keen on a Premier League switch this summer.

Manchester United definitely made some positive additions to the squad this summer, to their credit. INEOS conducted excellent business both in terms of incoming and outgoing. However, they may not be quite finished yet…

CaughtOffside provide the latest information on the situation of free agent Adrien Rabiot, who is still searching for a club three months after he left Juventus.

According to their sources, United are still ‘interested’ in signing the top midfielder on a free transfer. However, the Reds will face competition from Newcastle United, who are also in the mix for the Frenchman.

It’s added that the player is ‘prioritising’ a Premier League move this summer, having already turned down a bid from Turkish side, Galatasaray.

Rabiot has been on United’s radar for each of the last three transfer windows under Ten Hag and if the price is right, this is a move that I can definitely see happening. It all comes down to what sort of wages the Frenchman wants.

I honestly believe Rabiot is intending to go to the highest bidder, which is a concern. I’m not convinced he’s wholly interested in playing for the best team or competing at the highest level, rather, he wants one final big pay day before calling quits on a trophy-laden career. With that in mind, I am somewhat on the fence about whether the Old Trafford club should make this move.

Nobody can deny Rabiot’s talent. However, every single time United have shown an interest in him, Rabiot has asked for an insane weekly wage. Under the current regime, I’m just not sure the Red Devils will be prepared to offer him the astronomical figures he wants.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Adrien Rabiot would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
