Man United interested in Carney Chukwuemeka: report

Man United are seemingly interested in Aston Villa starlet, Carney Chukwuemeka.

Well, the January transfer window has been officially slammed shut. Here at Old Trafford Faithful, though, the work doesn’t stop.

Planning for the summer is already well underway, with the 20-time Premier League champions looking to continue with their mantra of signing and developing young players. The latest up-and-comer linked with a Reds switch? Carney Chukwuemeka…

That’s according to The Times, with Birmingham Live picking up the story. Apparently, United are interested in signing the emerging midfielder, who has been dubbed ‘one of the best in his age group’ by Aston Villa chief executive, Christian Purslow.

United aren’t the only ones keen, though, which could be a problem. Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are all credited with an interest in Villa’s next big thing.

Typical United, typical Ole

And I mean that title as a positive. Manchester United excel when signing young kids and developing their abilities rather than spending big-money on a ready-made name.

Credit to Solskjaer for picking up that baton, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, Mason Greenwood and many others excelling under his tutelage.

United suddenly look like they have a conveyor belt of top talent on their books again and that’s down to Solskjaer’s ethos.

As for Chukwuemeka, he’s impressing massively at Villa. I don’t doubt he’d come to Old Trafford and almost make an instant impact if this deal is sanctioned. Sure, beating out the rest of the competition isn’t going to be easy, but there’s no better place to learn your trade as a young kid in England than the Theatre of Dreams. And that’s a fact.

Would a Man United move for Carney Chukwuemeka make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
