Man United remain keen on signing Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, though he could prove to be too expensive.
Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund last summer, in a big-money summer transfer deal that was made in order to set up the club for long-term success.
The Dane has been excellent. A real shining light during a pretty drab season. Goals, work rate, movement, hold-up play. However, he needs help. When Hojlund is absent, there’s a noticeable drop-off. Hence, it makes sense to see United linked with a move to bring in another forward in a support striker role.
Several forwards have been linked with filling that void. Evan Ferguson’s name included, though all had gone quiet on that front recently.
The Brighton striker finds himself back in the headlines, being linked with a Red Devils move once again. It’s GIVEMESPORT and journalist Ben Jacobs with the information.
According to their latest, United remain keen on signing the 19-year-old starlet, reiterating the club’s desire to bring in another striker who can both support and compete with Hojlund.
The Republic of Ireland international has scored six league goals this term, though he has been pretty quiet over the last few months. I guess that’s just the nature of any young player learning their trade.
Jacobs states that a move for Ferguson is a ‘possibility’ for United this summer, though the asking price for his signature may prove problematic. Brighton, who are under no pressure to part with their prized assets, will demand around the £100m mark to let the striker leave.
Obviously, that’s a massive figure. Jacobs adds that United will have to sell some players before they can afford to splash that sort of cash on Ferguson. With United’s poor selling record, it’s hard to see exactly how they generate such massive funds.
There can be no doubt that Ferguson would be a huge coup if the club could pull it off. United would be in super safe hands if the Reds have both Hojlund and Ferguson leading their line for the next ten years plus.

Man.Utd should try and bring Jack Grilesh. As it is he is not happy there at Man.City. This is the time to strike the rod when it is hot.
