Man United have been added to the race to sign striker Dusan Vlahovic.
As we all know, Manchester United could well be in the market for a new striker this coming summer. With Edinson Cavani’s future still up in the air, coupled with a poor season from Anthony Martial, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for that 20+ goal-a-season striker he can rely upon.
Harry Kane’s name has been mentioned with regularity, as has Erling Haaland’s. However, on May 1st, another name was thrown into the mix; Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic currently plies his trade for Fiorentina in Serie A, with the 21-year-old enjoying a breakthrough campaign.
Vlahovic won’t come cheaply, though. The Serb still has two years on his contract, with Fiorentina bosses asking for a fee of at least £52m (€60m) to sanction the sale this coming summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t have it all his own way in the race to sign Vlahovic, mind, with AS Roma and Inter Milan both thought to be keen, per TMW.
I’ll reiterate, it all depends on what Cavani wants. Obviously, if the Uruguayan wants to stay around for another twelve months, Solskjaer will probably take that option first and foremost.
In regards to Vlahovic, I’m not going to sit here and tell you’ve I’ve seen him play. I haven’t. However, you’ve gotta’ be somewhat decent to score 19 goals in Serie A as a 21-year-old. The talent is obviously there.
The question would be whether Vlahovic can adapt to the English game and lead the line for the biggest club in the country from the get-go – as that’s exactly what would be required…
