Manchester United have always been brilliant when it comes to developing young talent and nurturing their abilities.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to continue that mantra by giving several academy graduates their chances on the first-team stage.
He’s also shown an eye to spend pretty big on the next up-and-comers in the transfer market; a £10m deal to acquire Hannibal Mejbri will attest to that.
Today, another name has been thrown back into the mix; Scottish prodigy, James Graham.
The story comes from the Scottish Sun, who write that United ‘want another look’ at the talented 15-year-old forward, with Graham impressing on trial with the Reds back in March.
However, the interest in the young Ross County man has since intensified, with both Celtic and Wolverhampton Wanderers both keen on Graham.
As always with young kids, there’s no way of knowing how quickly (if at all) they’ll develop and fully accomplish the peak of their powers. Graham would be a gamble, but it’s one United can take with very little risk.
Why change the habit of a lifetime? Get this deal done when the transfer window opens, see what he’s got and if Graham is good enough, I don’t doubt that we’d see him on a pre-season tour in a couple of years time…
