Man United interested in signing Thomas Muller in January: report

I know I sound like a broken record but for Manchester United, the addition of a new striker in the winter window is essential.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to work with right now. If anything, the Reds need an extra body.

Today, a new name has been thrown into the mix. The story comes from SportBild and their head of football, Christian Falk. Apparently, United are interested in signing 30-year-old forward, Thomas Muller, in the January transfer window.

However, the Old Trafford club will not have things all their own way as they’ll face competition, with Inter Milan also keen on signing the German hitman.

Muller has been with Bayern Munich for almost twenty years, though his magic has fizzled out over the last eighteen months in Bavaria. Perhaps what he needs is a change in scenery.

This is a player who isn’t particularly quick, nor physical, instead, Muller is just an absolute gunman when given a chance to rifle the ball into the back of the net.

He’s scored over 200 domestic career goals during his time with Bayern, while also tacking on 38 for his beloved Germany. I’d imagine Munich aren’t keen on letting him leave easily and he certainly won’t come cheap, though there’s no doubt Muller would be a sublime addition to this struggling United forward line.
