Manchester United Football Club are clearly thinking about contingency plans, in the case that David de Gea leaves Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, per HITC, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford.
However, United aren’t the only side interested, with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich also considering moving for the 24-year-old.
Pickford has come a long way in such a short space of time. He only got his move to Merseyside twelve months ago, and since then he’s gone from strength-to-strength; now he’s England’s #1.
This is a man who’s an excellent shot-stopper, has great composure and he’s pretty good when it comes to distributing the ball. You just know Everton would charge an absolute arm and a leg to let him leave; particularly to a Premier League rival. The report claims that The Toffees want to secure at least double the £30million that they paid for him to sign the goalkeeper from Sunderland.
While personally, I feel it’s unlikely that De Gea will depart this transfer window, it’s nice to know that United do have a back-up plan in case the inevitable does eventually happen. I’d love Pickford at the club, particularly as he’s improving year-on-year and is only going to get better.
