Man United keeping tabs on superstar 18-year-old, send scouts to watch him play: report

Manchester United’s defensive injury issues have been staggering this term. Perhaps that explains why Jose Mourinho was keen to invest in a new centre-back over the summer; although that didn’t happen due to Edward Woodward’s ‘superior’ judgement…

It looks as though the club may well have had a change of heart, however, if reports from The Sun are to be believed. They say that United are keeping tabs on Galatasaray starlet, Ozan Kabak.

The 18-year-old has been impressing since making his debut last May, with United even sending scouts to watch the centre-back, who is valued at around £20million.

United wouldn’t be alone in the chase to sign Kabak, however, with AS Roma and Inter Milan also exploring the possibility of signing the teenager; which should tell you everything you need to know about his talent and ability.

I guess the only real issue I have is the fact that he’s young. Right now, United need someone with seniority in my opinion. I can’t remember the last time when the club went out and signed a wise old head who can lead the back line, rather than dipping their toes into the market for a young up-and-comer. With that said, Kabak would be cheap enough to mean that the Old Trafford club could bring in two centre-backs; although that almost certainly guarantees at least one would have to leave…
