Man United are apparently making their move to sign Youssouf Fofana.
Manchester United Football Club are still looking to improve their playing squad with real quality this summer. It’s an absolute necessity given the current state of the dressing room.
Signings are needed in multiple areas, particularly in midfield. Several names have been linked with filling that void, including AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.
Over the last 24 hours, Le10Sport have given us an update on the future of the Frenchman. According to their information, United are ‘launching’ for the signing of the midfielder.
Apparently, the player himself is ‘eager’ to take on a new challenge, as he ‘wishes to leave’ his current club. With one year left on his deal, AS Monaco have a real decision to make.
If Fofana refuses to sign a new deal, the Ligue 1 side will have no choice but to cash in on the midfielder this summer.
United are not the only side in the hunt for his signature, with Juventus and AC Milan both also keen. It makes sense, given the fact that Fofana will be available for a fee that’s cheaper than his typical market value.
This isn’t the first time United have been linked with Fofana and a move for the midfielder would make plenty of sense. He’d be relatively cheap, during a time where money is thought to be tight for the Old Trafford club.
Fofana is mobile, energetic, great on the ball and extremely talented. He ticks all the boxes that United need right now, while you’d also like to think Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will know the player very well from his time over in France keeping an eye on his other side, Nice.
