Man United leading Jadon Sancho chase, Dortmund believe he’s Old Trafford-bound: report

The feeling in and around Manchester United is that the club are one marquee signing away from competing year-in-year-out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a stellar job, make no mistake about it. This squad has been ridden of deadwood aplenty, while positive steps have been taken under the Baby Faced Assassin.

This summer is key. Remember, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United finished second during his second season at the club – and failure to back the self-proclaimed Special One that summer led to the Reds taking another backwards step.

Now, United and The Glazers have a chance to right those wrongs. What better way to do that than by convincing the best, young, Englishman in the world right now to make his move to United?

Well, according to the Evening Standard, United are well on their way to doing that. Apparently, United are ‘leading the race’ to sign the superstar 20-year-old, with Borussia Dortmund now believing he’s Old Trafford-bound.

The right-winger is apparently United’s primary target, with the Reds ready to make him their most expensive signing in their history.

It is expected to take upwards of £100m, while Chelsea aren’t unnerved by paying that fee. However, United are feeling positive about beating out the London club in a head-to-head battle.

Honestly, this could be game-changing. Sancho in a front three alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial definitely whets the appetite – particularly when you’ve got Bruno Fernandes just in-behind. Sprinkle Paul Pogba into the mix and an ever-improving defence fronted by Harry Maguire, United fans have so many reasons to feel positive right now.
