Manchester United will undoubtedly be looking to make a splash when the summer transfer window opens. the Red Devils need that marquee signing as the club look to push on to that next level – particularly if Paul Pogba does indeed leave.
Amongst those players United could well make a move for is Jadon Sancho. The English hotshot is tearing it up in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund right now, though he could make a move in the not too distant future.
Today, in the form of an exclusive, The Telegraph have offered us an update – and it’s certainly a positive one. Apparently, United have ‘made the early running’ for Sancho, in a deal that’d be a club record transfer fee.
The Telegraph adds that Solskjaer is ‘leading the race’ to sign the superstar 19-year-old, while an agreement on personal terms with Sancho is set to be ‘straightforward’. I guess it’s relatively easy to come to terms when £200k-a-week is on the table…
Sancho is on the radar of top European clubs, though United are the frontrunners. Furthermore, it’d take a ‘dramatic move’ from a rival club to swoop in and sign the Englishman ahead of the Red Devils.
This signing would finally offer us hope in a position where we’ve struggled over the years. United are craving that world-class right-winger who can make the difference. Sancho definitely has the talent to do that.
It could well be a waiting game, though. With the European Championships taking place this summer, I’d be surprised if a deal is agreed before then. Expect plenty of posturing from both United and Borussia Dortmund, too…
