Man United leading the charge to sign 21-year-old France superstar: report

Manchester United’s poor summer transfer window is already coming back to haunt the Red Devils. Jose Mourinho’s men find themselves way off the pace in the league already, we’re in December…

Now, though, it looks as though the Red Devils are trying to right a few wrongs as United have emerged as the leading contenders to sign the brilliantly talented Tanguy Ndombele.

That’s according to France Football, per the Daily Mirror, who say that United are ‘most interested’ in Ndombele, despite strong interest from Manchester City, FC Barcelona and others…

Although all the coverage tends to go to the defence, I personally feel the midfield is the biggest problem at Old Trafford right now. There is no movement, on-ball quality or any real desire in that area right now, and Ndombele would be a huge upgrade if the club could pull the signing off.

Obviously, United reckon they have the financial muscle to pull the deal off, although the fact that Mourinho’s future is somewhat up in the air could prove to be a stumbling block.

Personally, I feel United should just pay whatever it takes to get this deal done in January, as other potential buyers won’t necessarily be expecting it, which would give the Old Trafford club an edge.
