Man United are set to make a move to sign Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich.
Goals have been a struggle this season for Manchester United. The Old Trafford side haven’t had much production from their forward players, with Marcus Rashford and Antony struggling in particular.
Rasmus Hojlund is starting to find his feet, though he cannot carry the full burden of the goals from the lead striker role, particularly with Anthony Martial now out injured until April at the earliest.
The latest from TEAMTalk states that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could be on the radar. We’ve covered those stories extensively, with the rumours in regard to the 34-year-old now starting to ramp up.
According to their headline, United are likely to make an ‘imminent’ move to sign the forward, as the Reds really want to bring in a striker in the mid-season window.
The Bayern Munich player has been pushed out of the side by Harry Kane since his arrival at the club, while his contract with the Bavaria side winds down. His deal expires this summer and United could look to take advantage of that.
It’s reiterated by TEAMTalk that Choupo-Moting would be keen on a United transfer as he looks to make that next step in his footballing career.
The large majority of supporters were not fans of Wout Weghorst’s loan signing, though I actually believe he did a more than decent job when all things were considered. I’d be more than happy to bring in Choupo-Moting on either a loan or a short-term deal, just to ease the burden on the younger forwards a little bit.
