Man United-linked striker, Harry Kane, still views winning trophies with Spurs as his top priority.
Manchester United are still desperate for that elite-level striker who can replace Cristiano Ronaldo. Obviously, it’s a signing that is not going to come cheap, whoever the Old Trafford club eventually settle on.
Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane are the two names the media seem to be talking up as possible options right now, with the latter’s contract winding down at Tottenham Hotspur.
We’ve already learned that Kane will cost an arm and a leg for United, due to the premium added on as Spurs won’t want to sell to a fellow English club.
However, it was always going to be reliant on other factors, including what the player himself actually wants…
The latest update in the saga comes from the Evening Standard, who states that the 29-year-old, who has been linked with a move to United, still sees his boyhood club Spurs as a ‘priority’ in the upcoming summer window, dealing a transfer blow to the Reds.
Kane, who has scored goals galore for Spurs and England, has a winding down deal at White Hart Lane, though I can’t imagine it’ll be too hard for him to renew his contract if that’s what he so wishes.
The problem at Spurs is that lack of consistency. They’re always changing manager, changing style and tweaking their squad. It’s hard enough to win silverware in this country. I don’t see Spurs doing that anytime soon.
United are ahead in the league, in a cup semi and looking good to finish inside the top four, while being earlier on in their development under a new manager. I admire his commitment to the cause, but I genuinely believe United will win a trophy before Spurs do.
