Manchester United have pressing issues all over the field. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there’s just too much work to complete in one transfer window.
The Baby Faced Assassin will have to pick and choose United’s biggest needs. It seems as though he’s determined to add a new centre-half to the ranks over the summer.
Harry Maguire is a name that has been linked with an Old Trafford move and late last night, The Sun provided another update on ‘Slab-head’s’ future.
They say that 26-year-old Maguire will play his last game for Leicester City tomorrow against Chelsea, before a battle for his signature begins.
United will face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Chelsea were also thought to be keen but their transfer ban leaves them hindered.
Understandably, Leicester will want to keep ahold of a key player, but if bidding reaches the £60million mark then the Foxes will ‘entertain’ the offer(s).
Eyebrows were raised by fans when United’s interest in Maguire came into the public eye last summer, but my stance remains the same – Maguire would be an upgrade on what the Red Devils currently have. Surely moving back in for him makes sense? Particularly after a campaign in which United conceded 52 goals…
