Man United looking at Casemiro as possible midfield signing

Man United are looking at possibly moving for Real Madrid midfielder, Casemiro.

Erik ten Hag has spent the summer chasing the signature of Frenkie de Jong. The Old Trafford club have been unsuccessful in that pursuit thus far.

The Dutch midfielder’s preference has always been to remain at FC Barcelona. To this point, no agreement has been reached between the player.

It’s about that time in the transfer window when it makes sense to weigh up other options. Several names have been linked, though today, Casemiro is the latest potential transfer target.

Marca state that United have identified the classy 30-year-old as a ‘possible reinforcement’ for their struggling midfield. Given the ‘complexity’ of the De Jong deal, the Real Madrid man has been viewed as an alternative to the current Barcelona star.

As things stand, no official proposal has been made, while Casemiro’s positive relationship with Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti means this one instantly looks like an uphill battle.

Factor in United’s struggles, lack of Champions League football and this one absolutely looks like a non-starter. Let’s face it, who in their right mind would leave the current Champions League winners for a team who are sitting bottom of the Premier League table…?

All that said, there’s no doubting Casemiro would be a direct upgrade on any of our current midfielders. Aged 30, he’d bring experience, a winning mentality and it helps that he’d be an ideal fit for the new system.

Sadly, United no longer have that pull. Casemiro making this move can only be described as career suicide in the hunt for one final big payday.

Do you think Casemiro would be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. Was reading about the speech that Ronaldo made about Man.Utd and his teammates. He is a good player but also there are possibilities that even good players can blame others for faults but to have him was good at the beginning with all the promises etc made towards the club and his teammates was good. Then again things started taking a different turn. We also saw Ronaldo shot so many goals during that time. Now, if anyone can see he is still trying to shoot but it was hard for him to score even one out of so many. Some were on target but some not. So if you look at it, our players make alot of mistakes and are not confident enough in front of the goal. He also has take a bit of the blame for not striking one into the net.
David needs to be changed and the chance given to someone who can compete for his place. I think Man.Utd is too reliant on him. You need to try the other players as they are also training like David to become better.
So is Ronaldo going to be doing the same at the other clubs in case they do not win? How only at Man.Utd he does so?
We all want the same a WIN but the dressing room is where it all begins and the Unity and support to encourage your players even in bad times to get up and pick themselves up and start all over again. It is showing from his kind of attitude in the dressing room and with the coaches. He likes to be a winner but even in some clubs, he was not upto it. He is a great player and if what he stands for, I wish we could have had one goal from him to make him the winner besides all his teammates who are doing wrong in the club.
We also as fans do not like what we see and the loss causes frustration for us as fans.
