Man United could make an astute move to sign Championship player, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Money is expected to be somewhat tight at Manchester United this summer. The Red Devils, now part-owned by INEOS, are trying to be more cautious with funds, rather than splashing the cash.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be hoping to make a positive impression, while trimming down the squads’ weekly wage somewhat significantly. Hence, it could mean making transfers for lesser-known names and cheaper options.
One player who fits into that mould is Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The midfielder has been linked with a United switch in the past.
Now, UtdDistrict believe the Reds are still keen on the Englishman, with United said to be ‘looking closely’ into the signing of the 25-year-old midfielder.
Apparently, Dewsbury-Hall is a player to ‘keep an eye out for’, with United having closely followed the Englishman for a lengthy period.
The club believe a move for Dewsbury-Hall would be a ‘shrewd’ acquisition, representing good value for money in the current transfer market.
Dewsbury-Hall has had an impressive season in the Championship, registering 23 goal contributions across 46 games. The Foxes sit second in the table, behind Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town. A Leicester City promotion could well make it tougher for the Reds to bring in the midfielder.
The verdict
I do like the thinking behind this move. United need to be cautious where money is concerned and Dewsbury-Hall is good value. He’s an excellent player who has already displayed that he can play Premier League level football.
As someone who can come in and out of the side as and when needed, this feels like an astute addition assuming the Old Trafford side can pull it off.
