Man United make approach for teenage attacker, quoted £70million fee: report

Although summer is still a few months away, Manchester United are already laying the groundwork for a big one.

After last year’s failings, the Old Trafford hierarchy must spend money if this side is to challenge for major honours, that much is obvious.

Amongst the needs is a true right-winger. Jesse Lingard aside, it’s a position in which United have struggled in over recent seasons. The latest name to be thrown into the ring is that of young Jadon Sancho.

It’s a report from The Sun which is linking the young Englishman with a move back to Manchester – although this time he could be playing in red rather than blue.

They say that United have made a ‘shock approach’ to Borussia Dortmund in an effort to try and sign Sancho, with the Red devils quoted a £70million transfer fee to land the 18-year-old.

Sancho has been absolutely electric for the Bundesliga giants this term, as his stock on the market continues to go through the roof. City will be kicking themselves for letting him leave, but that could play into United’s hands who desperately need someone who can make that right-wing spot their onw.

The fact that he’s English and was developed in this country means he’d also count towards the homegrown cap, which is just an added bonus. What a brilliant signing this would be if Edward Woodward can somehow pull it off…
