Well this is a story I never thought I’d talk about on here again… Antoine Griezmann is being linked with a potential move to Manchester United this summer.
That’s according to The Independent, who say that the Red Devils believe a deal is possible for the 28-year-old World Cup winner, with the club already making contact with the player about a potential move.
It looked for all the world like FC Barcelona were going to sign the Atletico Madrid attacker who is going to leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer, but key figures at the Nou Camp have doubts about Griezmann’s benefit.
Initially it was expected that Barca would meet his £108million release clause, but their hesitancy has given United an opportunity to pounce and try to sign Griezmann.
After all the to-do last summer about his wish to stay with Atletico via a documentary, for Griezmann only to backtrack just a year later, immediately sets alarm bells ringing for me.
It feels as though the Frenchman has just become way too big for his boots, and given United’s dressing room problem, I’m not sure adding another high-profile prima donna is a move that’s in the best interests of the club.
