Man United make it clear they will not sell Marcus Rashford

Man United will not sell Marcus Rashford this summer.

It’s pretty clear that the rebuilding job at Manchester United is a big one. The Old Trafford club could easily lose 10+ players when all is said and done before the 2022/23 term begins.

Erik ten Hag will no doubt bring in his own signings, though the Dutchman will also expect to get more value from the current players within the first-team squad.

The rumours have been swirling around Marcus Rashford. I guess it was to be expected given how badly the Englishman struggled over the last nine months.

However, Rashford will be playing his football at Old Trafford next term. That’s according to Simon Stone, who claim that United have been making it ‘pretty clear’ they have ‘no intention’ of selling their key star Rashford this summer.

The general thought around the place is that Rashford just needs to rediscover his form. After all, he’ll never lose that natural talent. He just has to utilise it better.

Without wanting to make excuses, the fact that Rashford went into the season on the back of a pretty serious injury, without any pre-season, definitely didn’t help. Neither did the fact that he was never given a regular run of starts under Ralf Rangnick.

United fans love Rashford. That’ll never change. He’s a homegrown hero and the supporters will get fully behind the attacker next season. I fully expect him to get back to his best at some point in the not too distant future.

It all starts with an arm around the shoulder from Ten Hag, coupled with a full pre-season under his belt. United’s number ten has already been putting in the graft as he looks to start proving the several doubters wrong.

I, for one, am pleased to learn Rashford isn’t going anywhere this summer.
