Man United have seemingly asked about the availability of PSG striker, Mauro Icardi.

Manchester United are in a truly dire situation. The Old Trafford club finds itself struggling to acquire players, while the stars they have are looking to leave

Erik ten Hag has a monumental task on his hands. Fixing these deep-rooted issues isn’t going to be easy. It’s about adding players who actually want to be at the club.

Well, I’m not sure the latest name to be linked with a potential Reds switch fits that mould; Mauro Icardi…

It’s Get French Football News with the information, who state that the Reds have made an ‘informal enquiry’ through intermediaries over potentially signing Icardi.

The Argentine is currently on PSG’s transfer list, with the Ligue 1 giants well stocked in the final third. After initially impressing in the French capital, Icardi has struggled over the last couple of seasons.

The 29-year-old is said to be ‘enticed’ by a Reds move, while it’s his ‘desire’ for this move to go through.

As of yet, talks between United and PSG are yet to take place. That’s due to the fact that Icardi isn’t viewed as a priority target right now, which could explain the slow progress on this transfer.

Icardi is someone who is obviously immensely talented. It can be argued that he’s up there with the best in the business on his day.

However, the Argentine comes with excess baggage. His off-field antics worry me. That’s absolutely not what United need right now.

Ten Hag needs reliable professionals whom he can fully trust to buy into his system and always give their all. I’m honestly not convinced Icardi is someone who’d 100% buy in, particularly during times of struggle.
