Man United make move for Sandro Tonali, Brescia want £30.7m fee: report

Manchester United’s problems in midfield are well documented. The Red Devils lack in any creativity whatsoever – particularly when Paul Pogba is out injured.

Anyway, the new name being rumoured with an Old Trafford switch is Sandro Tonali. Now FcInterNews have an update on the future of the 19-year-old who helped Brescia to Serie A promotion last term.

They state that United, along with Borussia Dortmund ‘have moved’ for the talented midfielder, with Brescia looking for around €35m (£30.7m) to let their prized asset leave.

However, the article does state that Tonali has no plans to leave his homeland just yet, as he wants to continue to develop and grow as a player. As expected, Italy’s best teams all get a mention – with Juventus and Inter Milan leading the way.

At this point, I’d take any midfielder who can bring any sort of creativity to the table. United are seriously lacking in quality in a key area of the field – which simply has to be fixed if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is serious about winning trophies at Old Trafford.

I do doubt how likely United are to win the race for Tonali’s signature though. Perhaps he’ll move to another Italian club, then transfer abroad later on in his career. After all, he’s still very young…
