Man United are pushing hard to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the brink of pulling off the unthinkable. Just when you thought any chance of a Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United was dead, the Red Devils go and pull a stunt like this.

Manchester United mean business. Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t going to Manchester City. The man from Portugal could be heading home.

The latest update comes from Fabrizio Romano, who states that an official bid from United has been made as the Reds and Juventus are trying to find an agreement to complete the deal. As of right now, I’m still in complete shock.

This is a player who has provided us with so much joy over the years and to hear that he’s extremely close to sealing a return to Manchester United is absolutely spectacular.

The other good news for United is that Paul Pogba isn’t included in any negotiations.

As for Ronaldo, it seems like a move that would suit all involved. United are getting arguably the greatest player of all time back to Old Trafford. The player si leaving an unhappy situation, while the selling club can move on from a man who has struggled there.

The speed in which this transfer is moving is absolutely rapid so I expect we’ll be pretty busy in regards to updates tonight – but this latest slice of information from Fabrizio Romano is definitely a positive one.

With Tuesday’s deadline fast approaching, United will have to work quickly to get this move done. I’ll be honest, I have little to no confidence in the likes of Ed Woodward when it comes to moving rapidly in these sort of situations but I’d hope he can pull through for us here.

Would this move make Man United instant title contenders? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
