Manchester United have made an audacious attempt to try and sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid, according to Diario Gol in Spain. they say that the Red Devils have made a €55m (£50.7m) bid to land the Spaniard, although his current release clause stands at €80m (£73.3m).
The 21-year-old has made a stunning start to the season with Los Blancos and you’d completely understand why the top European sides in world football are showing an interest in the young man.
He’s the complete attacking midfielder who has it all; An excellent eye for a pass, a ridiculous long-range shot and he’s an immense dribbler, too.
It’s all well and good showing an interest in this young man, but pulling this signing off is another matter altogether.
Are Real Madrid really going to part with one of their prized assets at this point in the window? No. On top of that, is Asensio going to leave the best club side in the world? I highly doubt it.
For me, there is absolutely no point in wasting our time chasing this guy because a deal just isn’t happening even if his release clause was met.
