Fresh off agreeing a deal for Daniel James, it looks as though Manchester United are ready to put their foot down and try to press on with transfers.
According to Sky Sports News’ sources, United have made a ‘substantial bid’ for Crystal Palace right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Although no fee is mentioned by Sky, you do get the feeling it’s going to take something in excess of £50million to even tempt the Eagles into parting with one of their prized assets this summer.
The Reds are desperate to add some quality in an area that has struggled over the last few seasons, and with Antonio Valencia, there is an even bigger need for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to invest in a long-term right-back.
Wan-Bissaka is a quality player, although Palace are under no pressure to sell as he has three years left on his current deal.
After a breakthrough season in which United have obviously taken notice, Wan-Bissaka played 39 times across all competitions, almost improving on a weekly basis.
There’s no debate that Wan-Bissaka would be a massive upgrade on what United already have in that area of the field, while it also continues with Solskjaer’s ideology of investing in young (preferably British) players and taking this club back to its roots.
