Who knows when Manchester United Football Club will play again? That said, there’s still plenty to talk about with transfer stories starting to intensify ahead of an all-important window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a superb job and definitely deserves another season at the helm. Now, it’s about further identifying the right signings – then getting the deals done.
Well today, a new name has been thrown into the ring; Victor Omishen. The claim was originally posted by the Daily Star, who found the report in France. We did some digging and discovered that Le10Sport ran the story over the weekend.
Apparently, United have made Lille’s 21-year-old forward a ‘priority’ for the upcoming summer transfer window. Furthermore, the club feeling he has the ‘qualities’ to impose himself in the Premier League, while feeling ‘very hot’ at landing the player.
Omishen isn’t your household name, though that’s what we thought of Daniel James at the time of his signing. I’d say that one has worked out pretty well.
The Nigerian, born in Lagos, has scored eighteen goals for Lille this term, leading the line and replacing Nicolas Pepe’s output in France.
No transfer fee is mentioned as of yet, but if he keeps putting in stellar performances like this, you’d imagine Lille will likely demand a similar fee to what they got from Arsenal for the aforementioned Pepe.
Right now, it’s about exploring all your options. It definitely seems like United are doing their due diligence in that regard, and it’d be foolish to not explore every single player that Solskjaer and his management team have taken a liking to.
